Great Gatsby Wedding in Scottsdale, Arizona
Laura and Daniel wanted to embrace the roaring 20’s for their wedding and that’s exactly what they did. Complete from fedora and pearl necklace favors to faux fur shawls for the bride and her ‘maids, it all came together beautifully. The couple held there wedding at a friends house which was sandwiched between Camelback and Papago Mountains. If you’re considering a wedding at a private residence there are a few things to keep in mind. Take into account the size of the property to ensure you have enough room for table set-up, dance floor and food/bar service. For most house weddings I wouldn’t suggest going over 100 guests. You’ll also want to notify all the neighbors of the celebration so they are aware of the traffic it will bring and the sound from the music. Also, consider setting up shuttle service for guests to park at a designated spot (a nearby church parking lot is ideal) and have the guests driven to the house. This will drastically cut down on the street parking and frustration from the neighbors not being able to access their property. Lastly, and most importantly, hire a wedding coordinator! With no venue staff to assist you’ll need someone to greet vendors, help set decor, assist the guests and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. With the money you’re saving from not renting a venue its wise to allocate some of that savings into hiring a coordinator. Trust me, its an investment well spent! Of course, I’m just a smidge biased…LOL
Happy-Ever-After to Laura & Daniel! ~Janet
