Country Club Wedding at DC Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona

This couple planned their destination wedding all the way from Chicago. In fact, all of their 100 guests were out-of-towners too! There’s something special when couples decide to marry outside their home state. It can add more stress being so far away, and not being able to “pop-in” the venue or meet your vendors in person. But it also adds an adventurous, vacation like vibe to the day. Everyone is at their happiest, carefree self. You can also take the opportunity to schedule outings for your guests like tours of the city you’re visiting, hikes or hit a few rounds of golf. Destination weddings are the perfect setting to make what typically is a one-day event a whole weekend of activities. Oh, and don’t forget the welcome bags for your arriving guests. This can include things like foods made in the wedding city/state, maps of the area and specific things needed for the region. For example, in Arizona you would provide sunscreen and bottled water (two things that visitors seem to undervalue the need for). So don’t be afraid of planning a destination wedding—it can really bring your family and friends closer together and create lasting memories.
